Donald is a Professional Architect having joined MDS Architecture after graduating from the University of Cape Town cum laude receiving the award for the best student graduating in his year. Donald has over 25 years as a design and project architect with experience in hotel, leisure, retail, offices and mixed use development. In 2000 Donald became a partner at MDS Architecture. In 2002 he was the partner seconded to the joint venture practice DSA Architects International to work on a variety of projects in Dubai, including Madinat Jumeirah Arabian Resort & Spa.

After returning to MDS Architecture in 2006 from successful projects in Dubai, Donald has headed up projects in West and East Africa, Mauritius as well as large retail projects in South Africa. In recent years Donald has stepped back from his project architect responsibilities and now focuses on the concept design in the practice as senior design partner.
