Mentorship Program
Part of our social projects initiative at CKB•MDS Architecture is the establishment of a mentorship program which extends an invitation to high school students as well as university students who are studying architecture.
This program is focused on giving students an opportunity to get a further understanding of the industry through mentorship and job shadowing. The students spend a typical day in the office observing and learning different aspects of architecture and they get an introduction to the architectural office environment.
The initiative involves showing the students various architectural projects that are run in the office where they get to see the process of the design and construction of a building. We also engage the students by encouraging them to ask questions pertaining to the architectural career.
Architecture students participated in the program for two weeks. The students are tasked with various design and technical aspects to improve their understanding and knowledge of architecture. In addition, the student received on site experience by being given an opportunity to accompany professional architects to site meetings and inspections. This exposed the student to the operations of a building project on site as well as giving the student an opportunity to interact with the various professionals involved.
